About Home Staging

Coldwell Banker Realty (US) tracked sales records on almost 3,000 properties, ranging in price from $200K to almost $5M, it discovered that while the average home was on the market for about 31 days, staged homes usually sold in about 14 days. It also found that the average home sold for 1.6% over the seller’s asking price, while staged homes went for about 6.3% more than asking.

Here is a real-life example of the potential value of home staging: By viewing a client’s home with a critical eye for detail, Diane made important improvements in preparation for the real estate listing and Open House. These improvements included re-painting the kitchen cupboards, replacing worn, outdated broadloom, relocating a home office to the lower level, and of course, purging old items and re-organizing closets. These improvements cost approximately $2,500. BUT... the home sold quickly and for $35,000.00 more than the original asking price!
